Granby Ranch’s Executive Chef Liana Aghajanian named Food and Beverage Professional of the Year by Colorado Ski Country USA

Aghajanian stepped in at the start of the 2020-21 season and has helped to elevate and enhance the Granby Ranch dining experience.
GRANBY, CO, June 22nd, 2021 – Colorado Ski Country USA today awarded Granby Ranch’s Executive Chef Liana Aghajanian the coveted Double Diamond Award for Food and Beverage Professional of the Year.
“I’m honored to receive this award, but when you face a tough year like this one, you need a great team,” noted Aghajanian. “Making incredible food at Granby Ranch couldn’t have happened without the hard work of my incredible staff, and this award is our team’s award.”
Each year, resort supervisors from around Colorado nominate candidates who then vie for the prestigious honor before a panel selected by the industry’s trade group, Colorado Ski Country USA. Double Diamond Award recipients range from industry veterans to up-and-coming professionals from Colorado’s best mountain resorts.
With 15 years of food and beverage industry experience, Aghajanian stepped into her first Executive Chef role at Granby Ranch during the Covid-challenged 2020-21 season.
“This year was certainly a challenging one with local changes to food and beverage regulations throughout the winter, but Chef Liana’s professionalism and dedication to her staff and guests really stood out,” said Colorado Ski Country USA President and CEO Melanie Mills. “The industry is fortunate to have people like her in its ranks – professionals that are committed to providing excellent guest service, no matter the circumstances,” Mills concluded.
Aghajanian leads the culinary team at Granby Ranch with vision, creativity and attention to detail. Joining the team just one month prior to the 2020/21 winter season opening, Aghajanian managed to launch two successful restaurants including the Bluebird Bistro, which has received rave reviews from destination guests and local community members alike.
