Granby Ranch Announces Opening of the 2020/21 Winter Ski Season


The 2020/21 Ski Season Opens December 11, 2020 with limited terrain opening on Friday, December 11 with the intent to open up top-to-bottom skiing and riding via the Quick Draw Chairlift on Saturday, December 12.

The resort’s adherence to and enforcement of Grand County COVID-19 related protocols are in place for the safety of all customers and the resort staff.


Granby, Colorado – December 10, 2020 Granby Ranch announced today that the winter season will open on December 11, 2020 at 9:00am and will feature terrain served by the Milestone Lift and the Pony Carpet. On Saturday, December 12, 2020 the resort intends to open with top-to-bottom skiing available via the Quick Draw Chairlift.

“We are thrilled to welcome the 2020/21 season and I couldn’t be prouder of our team, across the board, for their hard work and dedication towards this opening.” said Jace Wirth, General Manager of Granby Ranch. “The resort has invested over $1 million in capital improvements over the past year, including enhancements to snowmaking systems and much needed infrastructure improvements. One of those important investments has been in updating the Quick Draw chairlift control system and while I’m pleased to report that we’re very close to completing that work and requisite certifications, the final call on operating Quick Draw will be made and broadly communicated Friday.” said Wirth.

The resort is also providing a number of family friendly activities and programming over the opening weekend, including the following:

Friday, December 11
• Uphill skiing on Easy Money Ski Trail 9:00am to 3:00pm
• The Mystery of Snowmaking – A “How To” from the Experts at Granby Ranch 10:00am to 10:30am
• Snowman Building Contest – Winner receives a 2020/21 season pass 2:30pm to 4:00pm
• Free Hot Cocoa 3:30pm to 4:30pm
• Joe Nichols & Brent Rowan Music Concert – Drive In Big Screen Broadcast 6:30pm to 7:45pm
*For the safety of our guests and the artist, guests will drive in and park in the Granby Ranch parking lots. A large video screen will feature a live feed of the music event with the audio being broadcast over a local FM radio signal. Takeaway dining as provided for by Granby Ranch’s new dining operations will also be available. 

Saturday, December 12
• The Mystery of Snowmaking – A “How To” from the Experts at Granby Ranch 10:00am to 10:30am
• Free Hot Cocoa 3:30pm to 4:30pm
• Drive In Double Header feat “The Elf” & The Christmas Story – Drive In 6:00pm to 7:30pm & 7:30pm to 9:00pm
*For the safety of our guests, guests will drive in and park in the Granby Ranch parking lots. A large video screen will feature the special holiday films with the audio being broadcast over a local FM radio signal. Takeaway dining as provided for by Granby Ranch’s new dining operations will also be available.

Sunday, December 13
• Sno-Ga (Snow Yoga) at Granby Ranch 3:30pm to 4:00pm, located at The Conquest Lift
• Free Hot Cocoa 3:30pm to 4:30pm

Granby Ranch also announced that season pass, and lift pack pricing is set to increase at midnight on Friday, December 11, 2020. In order to receive the best rates on skiing and snowboarding at Granby Ranch, guests are encouraged to go to granbyranch.com and purchase the season pass or pack product which best suits their skiing and riding plans for the 2020/21 season. “The season pass value is remarkable, but of note is that customers can ski Granby Ranch for as little as $46 per day with the adult, midweek lift pack.” said Wirth. All customers can schedule a time to pick up their season pass and pack products via the all-new Granby Ranch Resort App available via the Apple App Store and the Android App Store.

Granby Ranch is located 90 miles west of Denver and three miles away from the town of Granby, Colorado. Granby Ranch features nearly 1,000 feet of vertical and nearly 900 acres of skiable terrain for all ability levels. The ski resort features two mountains, and 41 snowy trails can be accessed via the resort’s five chairlifts. The East Mountain is perfect for beginners and intermediates and is accessed by two high speed quad chairlifts. Granby Ranch’s West Mountain appeals to the advanced skier or snowboarder where all adventures start on the Conquest chairlift.
