  • Professionalism & Relatability. We sit in boardrooms. We turn wrenches. We flip burgers. We believe an egalitarian culture, respect, shared passion, and a sense of community among mountain people is imperative to success.

Do you have an appearance policy?

Yes, grooming standards are important and our company feels that a clean, neatly groomed appearance presents a positive image. Most important is our uniform policy, which is strictly enforced. You will be issued a uniform, which you must wear at anytime you are on the job and in the presence and/or eyesight of guests. You must also wear your name tag at all times and your uniform mask. You are allowed to take this uniform home; however, you will be required to frequently wash and take care of your uniform.

What do you look for in applications and resumes?

We are looking for people that are passionate about life and what they do. Creativity and humor is always welcome, but please keep it professional. Tell the truth. We are going to find out who you are eventually, so just be yourself. We want to know your accomplishments. Please attach a resume or fill out your previous employment history on the application. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications that do not include previous work and education history. Be sure to include recent employment history.

When should I apply for a job?

We start posting jobs for the winter season in mid to late August and for the summer season in March. Some jobs remain posted or are re-posted throughout the entire season, so just keep looking until you see something you like.

I can't find the job I want online. Why?

If the job you’re looking for is not posted online, the position is no longer available. We update the job postings on a daily basis, so what you see is what you can apply for at the present time. We also post a General Application if you’re not entirely sure what position is the right fit for you!

I’m interested in working for Granby Ranch year-round. Do you only post seasonal jobs?

Most of the positions we are looking to fill are either for the summer or winter seasons. When year-round positions are available, you can find those listed in our employment section on our website.

I applied online. What do I do now?

We review applications on a daily basis and then forward applications that meet all of the job requirements to the appropriate hiring manager. If you don’t hear from someone within two weeks, please feel free to contact us via email at sschoolcraft@granbyranch.com.

Do I have to do a background check?

Yes. All employees will be required to submit to a background check prior to employment. Any records will be evaluated closely on a case-by-case basis.

What if i start a job at Granby Ranch and decide it’s not the one for me? Can I switch to another job?

If the job you started isn’t working out for some reason, you can request to transfer departments. Apply online for the posted position you want to move to and speak with your manager. If the hiring manager wants to hire you for the new position, they will initiate the transfer paperwork. Transfers are not guaranteed, so be sure to follow through with the requirements of your current job until the transfer is finalized. You don’t want to find yourself without a job.

Is there employee housing?

Though limited, we do have employee housing through relationships we have developed with landlords and property managers in the area. Email jcautrell@granbyranch.com for more information on our housing program.

When do I get paid? Where do I pick up my check?

Our pay period runs biweekly, from Sunday through Saturday. It is recommended that you provide bank account information so that your checks can be directly deposited into your account. Be sure to bring enough money to live on for a few weeks. Depending on when you arrive and start working, you may not get paid for three weeks because of how our payroll cycles work. Make sure you have a little bit of a cushion until you are fully settled.

Are there places in town to buy groceries and other supplies?

Granby Ranch has a supermarket—City Market—immediately nearby the mountain. Dollar General, Ace Hardware and other shopping is available in town, with even more options in nearby Fraser and Winter Park.

What should I bring?

The right clothing. Be sure to ask your new manager/supervisor about dress code or recommended clothing/footwear for the job you will be doing, especially if you’re working outdoors. They can give you some great tips for layering and staying warm and dry. Be prepared for all weather conditions, as our days can start out sunny with blue skies, and be cold or rainy by lunch time.

Money. As stated above, depending on your timing, it could be three weeks before you receive your first paycheck. In some cases, you may not work your full hours until the season is in full swing. Give yourself a little wiggle room with your finances.

Backpack/Travel Bag. You will be transporting clothing and gear back and forth to the mountain for various reasons. It is nice to have a bag to carry your belongings or lunch.

Do you have a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for employees?

Yes. It is the policy of the company that staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

What does fully vaccinated mean?

An employee is considered fully vaccinated if they have received two doses in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

When do I have to submit my proof of vaccination?

Current active employees must provide proof of vaccination to HR by September 26, 2021. Newly hired employees must provide proof of vaccination prior to arrival at Granby Ranch.

What if I lost my vaccine card?

The CDC recommends contacting the location at which you received your vaccine, or contacting your state’s health department. All vaccinations are reported to those agencies, and individuals can request a copy of their records. The CDC also encourages everyone to take a picture of their vaccine card as a backup in case something happens to the physical version.

If I am vaccinated, do I have to wear a mask?

The company recommends mask wearing, and will follow the guidance of local public health agencies.

What if I only have my first vaccine shot?

Newly hired employees must have received both vaccine shots prior to arrival at Granby Ranch.

What are possible exemptions to this policy?

Request for exemptions to this policy may be made to human resources for the following reasons: 1) sincerely held religious belief, supported by a signed affidavit, or 2) medical reason, supported by a note from an appropriate health care professional. Human resources will decide whether or not to grant an exemption. The requests for exemption document must be signed and provided to HR prior to arrival at Granby Ranch.

If I have a recognized exemption, what does that mean?

Employees with a recognized exemption must wear a mask at all times when on Granby Ranch property and must receive weekly COVID-19 testing. Test results must be provided to HR prior to returning to work.

How do I report my weekly COVID-19 test results?

Take a photo of your test result and email to HR@granbyranch.com prior to your next shift worked.

What about employee housing?

Employees that live in shared units are required to have proof of vaccination prior to move in. Employees with recognized exemptions will be required to be assigned to a private unit.

If I have a recognized exemption, can I live with my friend who is vaccinated?

No.

If I have a recognized exemption, where do I get my weekly COVID-19 test?

We are working closely with the local public health agency on testing options. More information will follow regarding testing locations as winter draws closer.
