Know Before You Go - Guided Hikes, Tours and Lessons

Please be sure to check your itinerary before you arrive to ensure you have booked everything you need and know where to go. During weekends and holidays, walkups will be limited. 

 

Tours offered daily beginning at 9:30am.
Parking is first come first served in our main parking and Montana lots. 

 

What to Bring


Guests must be carrying 1 Liter per person in a camelback or water bottle.

Small personal bag with two shoulder straps. (Do not want to bring any string packs)

Comfortable/breathable sweat wicking shorts or pants.

Comfortable/breathable long sleeve or short sleeve shirt.

Sunglasses

At least one warmer outer layer, quick-drying material like a rain jacket, and one thermal. Avoid materials like cotton and denim, as they will retain water and make it harder to stay warm/cause chafing.

Comfortable hiking and biking socks are highly recommended.

Proper footwear is mandatory and not available for rental. If you are on a hiking tour, please bring hiking boots and or trail shoes. (No Sandals)

If biking, make sure you bring shoes that are fully closed and tight to user’s foot. (No Sandals)

Sunscreen is highly recommended at 8,300 feet of elevation!

Helmets are required for all tour participants younger than 18, and highly recommended for everyone participating.

Arrival


If you are getting rental equipment, please arrive at least 30 minutes before tour.

All Guest must check in at the front desk of tickets to receive lift passes, tour/lesson vouchers, and/or rental equipment.

Once checked in with equipment and tickets, guests can meet outside the ticket office at least 5 minutes prior to the lesson or tour’s start time.

Rescheduling a Lesson or Tour


Please do not be late to your tour. If you are more than 20 minutes late, we will have to reschedule your tour to a later time or date, to avoid disturbing the other tours and to ensure you receive a full lesson/tour.

We do not offer refunds or credit for missed lessons/or tours. Please be sure to communicate ahead of time to reschedule your tour/lesson if you are not going to be able to make it. We can only reschedule lessons within the same season as they were originally purchased.

Weather changes quickly in mountain environments. We do not offer refunds due to weather conditions. If the weather is deemed unsafe to be outside in, we will reevaluate it on a case-by-case basis.

Enjoyed your lesson/tour? Show your guide that you valued them with a tip via cash or Venmo. Gratuities are appropriate and appreciated, but not required.

Additional Information

Tours and lessons are available from 9:30am daily.

Parking is first come first served in our main parking lot and Montana lot. 

In the unlikely event of injury or medical emergency, Granby Ranch staff may contact medical personnel and/or arrange transportation to a medical facility. In case of emergency, we will attempt to reach the emergency contact provided.

Our guides will do their best to accommodate all participants during periods of frustration, fear, or illness. If a student is unwilling or unable to participate in the tour/lesson, we do not offer refunds or credits for partial tour/lessons.
